Warm greetings from the Japan Information Centre!

Applications for the 2011 MEXT (Monbukagakusho) JAPANESE STUDIES are now
open.

Japanese Studies Scholarship The Japanese Government's Ministry of
Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) offers
scholarships for academic study in Japan to foreign students interested in
deepening their understanding of the Japanese language, Japanese affairs and
Japanese culture. The purpose of these scholarships is to promote mutual
understanding and deepening friendly ties between Japan and other countries
through the application of advanced knowledge regarding Japan's language and
culture. Successful Applicants depart for Japan in October 2011.

Scholarship are now available, we would greatly appreciate your assistance
in making these materials available to interested students.
Interested Students should read the Eligibility Criteria in the application
instructions carefully to determine their Eligibility for this Scholarship.

The 2011 Japanese Studies Scholarship documents will be uploaded shortly on
the Study Japan Site.

The deadline to apply is Friday March 4th, 2011
Completed applications should be sent to the address below,
Should students have specific queries or concerns, please refer them to the
Study Japan website or advise them to contact me.

Also, please find attached a summary of eligibility criteria for the three
MEXT scholarships offered through the Consulate Office here in Toronto.
