The tremendous cultural and economic pace since the foundation of the People's Republic of China 60 years ago has been astonishing. With China's rapidly increasing global economy, new challenges face its government both domestically and internationally. At the same time this rapid pace has brought a renewed focus on the country’s history: as China seeks its global identity, it has reconnected with discarded past traditions, the very act of which catalyzed its social revolution. After 60 years, the face of the Chinese revolution continues to evolve. This seminar with one of today’s most pre-eminent scholar on China will seek to provide insight into the history of the Chinese revolution and the prospects for the future.
