Edition 2009-2010 of Students for Development Program - internship in Asia Pacific region available

application deadline:
summer round 1 - May 4
summer round 2 - May 11
autumn round 3 - May 21

duration of internship:
a minimum of three consecutive months overseas

funding per internship:
up to $8,000 per student (to cover eligible costs, such as international and local travel, accommodation, and per diems)

Asia Pacific region countries of focus:
India, China, Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Philippines

UNESCO Bangkok

The Office of the Regional Advisor for Culture in Asia and the Pacific (RACAP) welcomes interns to learn about UNESCO’s programmes in the Culture sector, and to assist in the implementation of activities.  Interns are expected to be enrolled in a post-graduate degree programme or hold a post-graduate degree in a field relevant to the Culture sector. International Women's Rights Action Watch - Asia Pacific

IWRAW Asia Pacific has an on-going internship programme that offers successful applicants exposure to a range of women's human rights issues and knowledge on CEDAW and related treaty bodies. You will also be able to gain research, advocacy and/or organising skills. Depending on the duration and timing of the internship, we also usually provide interns with a chance to gain hands-on experience through involvement in one of our trainings.

World Youth Alliance

Internships are voluntary and may be done on a part or full-time basis. All internships will be coordinated and supervised by the Regional Directors of the Asia. The Asia Pacific Internship Program is open to all World Youth Alliance members in the Asia Pacific region between the ages of 18 and 29. Internships run for 10 to 12 weeks on the average. Interns will be assigned a project and will be in-charge of implementing it according to the specifics in the brief.

CIDA International Youth Internship

The International Youth Internship Program (IYIP) is an employment program for young Canadians between the ages of 19-30. If you’re a post-secondary graduate, you could be eligible for this chance of a lifetime to work in a developing country and contribute to Canada’s international development goals.

Center for Asian Pacific Initiative

CAPI's International Internship Program, young people are increasingly turning to the international arena as an area for future employment. This is a field that is expanding at a tremendous rate and one that requires not only academic credentials but also practical experience.

In light of this, CAPI is pleased to offer an internship program that provides young Canadians with the opportunity to work in organizations in the Asia-Pacific region.
