Photographs have always been integral to the Asia Pacific Reader aesthetic. From the beginning we have accompanied our academic content with beautiful photography from around Asia.

It is a wonder then that it took us so long to get a Flickr account. We have one now, and are slowly adding to it. Our writers, contributors and editors have traveled quite a bit already and have submitted some fantastic photos.

If you have a Flickr account, get in on the action. We want the group to become a thriving community of photography not only for our staff, but for our readers, and maybe even faculty.

With photography being such a great medium of communication we will try to showcase the photos added to the group not only on the Flickr site, but here on the APR as well. Don't get thrown off by the message when joining - it is simply to make clear that by joining our community the photographs that you add will get a broader audience.

Add political photos, add conference photos, add photos of your encounters with Asia.

We will be posting guidelines and submission information at a later date but one of the Quake Prize categories is the Photo Essay. Keep an eye out!

Cheers,

Adam
